Journal Management Flow

JOURNAL MANAGEMENT FLOW

DYNAMICS OF RURAL SOCIETY JOURNAL

  1. Author Registration on the Journal Website
Authors register as contributors through the journal’s OJS (Open Journal System) portal.

  2. Submission of Manuscript
Authors upload the manuscript through the OJS system.

  3. Initial Manuscript Review and Administrative Completeness
The journal management team performs an initial review of plagiarism (maximum 20%) and verifies the administrative completeness of the manuscript (within 3 days). This process utilizes recognized plagiarism detection software.

    • If the manuscript contains more than 20% plagiarism or is incomplete, it will be returned to the author for revision within 2 days.
    • If the manuscript is complete and complies with the journal’s policies, it will proceed to the next stage.
  4. Distribution of Manuscript to Editors Based on Expertise
The journal management team assigns the manuscript to an editor with relevant expertise in the field.

  5. Manuscript Review by Editor
The editor reviews the manuscript to ensure that it adheres to the journal’s style guide and follows the applicable scholarly writing standards, as per the Dynamics of Rural Society Journal's guidelines and policies (within 7 days).

    • If the manuscript does not comply with the journal’s style, the editor requests revisions from the author within 3 days.
    • If the manuscript complies with the style guidelines, it is forwarded to the review process.
  6. Peer Review Process
Manuscripts that pass the style review are sent to two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field (maximum of 3 weeks for evaluation and review). The review process follows a double-blind system, where both the author and reviewer identities are anonymous.

    • Reviewers provide feedback and recommendations regarding the manuscript’s quality, methodology, analysis, and contribution to the literature.
  7. Review Outcome Decision
After the review process is completed, reviewers provide a decision:

    • Rejected
    • Accepted with conditions (major revision, moderate revision, minor revision)
    • Reviewers also recommend whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected.
  8. Revision by Author

    • The editor sends the revision feedback to the author for improvements based on reviewer comments (within 10 days).
    • The author revises the manuscript according to the reviewer’s suggestions and uploads the revised manuscript to OJS (within 10 days).
    • The author uploads the revised manuscript to OJS for editor review.
  9. Revision Check by Editor
After the author submits the revised manuscript, the editor checks whether the revisions align with the reviewer feedback.

    • If the revisions are inadequate, the manuscript is returned to the author for further improvements (within 3 days).
    • If the revisions are satisfactory, the manuscript is accepted, and the author will receive a confirmation email stating that the manuscript has been accepted for publication.
  10. Preparation for Publication by Technical Editing Team
After acceptance, the editor sends the manuscript to the technical editing team for proofreading, layout, and other necessary technical preparations in accordance with the journal’s technical guidelines.
This process ensures that the manuscript meets language, formatting, and reference standards as per Elsevier and international scholarly journal standards.

  11. Publication Schedule
Once all technical processes are completed, the Editor-in-Chief schedules the article for publication in the appropriate journal issue based on the order of submission and availability.

  12. Article Publication
The article is officially published and made available on the journal’s platform, with a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) to facilitate access and citation.
