Dynamics of Rural Society Journal (DRSJ) is an international, open-access, and peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing global understanding of rural societies and the social transformations that shape them, with a particular focus on the Global South. The journal provides a platform for research that is both theoretically informed and empirically grounded, encouraging interdisciplinary approaches to understanding rural change.
Published by the Department of Sociology at Gorontalo State University, Indonesia, in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Sociology Study Programs (APSSI), DRSJ invites contributions from scholars, researchers, and students worldwide. The journal aims to foster discussions on rural development, social inequalities, and collective action in rural contexts.

We are pleased to invite scholars and researchers to submit original research articles and review papers for Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2027 of DRSJ.

Aims and Scope
We welcome contributions addressing contemporary rural change, with a focus on (but not limited to) the following themes:
- Rural Inequality, Poverty, and Community Welfare
Explore social and economic inequalities in rural areas, addressing issues such as poverty, exclusion, welfare access, and social protection systems.
- Livelihoods, Labor, and Economic Change
Investigate rural livelihoods, labor markets, and the impacts of economic transformations on rural populations' adaptation and survival strategies.
- Rural Governance, Agricultural Development, and Public Institutions
Examine governance structures, agricultural policies, and the role of public institutions in shaping rural life.
- Migration, Mobility, and Demographic Change
Discuss migration patterns, demographic shifts, and mobility, and how these affect rural societies and their cultural dynamics.
- Gender, Family, and Social Relations in Rural Communities
Analyze gender roles, family dynamics, power relations, and social change in rural settings.
- Community Change, Identity, Resilience, and Conflict
Investigate how rural communities evolve, with a focus on identity, resilience, and conflict resolution.
- Agrarian-Social Transformation and Rural Citizenship
Explore agrarian changes, land relations, and the evolving role of rural citizens in political and social engagement.
