AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Before submitting manuscripts to the Dynamics of Rural Society Journal, it is expected to follow the writing guidelines provided by the journal. The guidelines in question are listed below:

Steps to follow before submitting a manuscript

  1. Manuscripts that will be sent to the Dynamics of Rural Society Journal are manuscripts that have never been published and are not in the process of being published in other journals;

  2. The author is fully responsible for the entire contents of the manuscript that will be sent to the Dynamics of Rural Society Journal;

  3. Manuscript submissions must be via the OJS platform;

  4. Before submitting the manuscript, the author must register with the Dynamics of Rural Society Journal, if already registered, just login;

  5. Make sure the topics and studies in your manuscript are in accordance with the scope and focus of the Dynamics of Rural Society Journal;

  6. Manuscripts can be written in Indonesian (following the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling [PUEBI]) and or in English;

  7. Manuscripts must have a minimum of 5000 words and a maximum of 10.000 words;

  8. It is recommended to use one of the following applications: Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero, or others;

  9. Manuscripts are written based on the guidelines on the template provided by the journal;

  10. Manuscripts must contain at least 15 references, with details of 85% being scientific journal articles published for at least the last 10 years;

  11. Manuscripts are sent in MS.Word format with the following conditions:

  • A4 paper (210 x 297 mm);
  • Page margins (left 3 cm, top 3 cm, right 2 cm, bottom 2 cm);
  • Times New Roman font type;
  • 11pt font size (except 14pt manuscript title, and 11pt author name and 10pt email corresponding);
  • Spacing 1.0;
  • Space before and after paragraph 6pt;
  • Foreign words or terms are written in italics (italics).

12. Manuscripts must contain:

Title

Manuscript titles in Indonesian and English (especially for English titles in italics) and in bold (bold). The title should be clear and concise and should be no more than 18 words. Each first letter of the word in the title is capitalized. The title uses 14pt Times New Roman (TNR) font, spaced 1, and center text.

Author's name, affiliation and email

The author's name is written clearly without title. The author's name is written in Times New Roman 11pt font, spaced 1, and center text. Furthermore, the author also needs to include the affiliation and email corresponding. For affiliation, it is written in Times New Roman 10pt font, space 1 and center text. For the Correspondence email, it is written in Times New Roman 10pt font, space 1 and center text.

Abstract

Abstract written in English and Indonesian. Abstract contains a maximum of 250 words with Times New Roman 11pt font, justify, spaced 1, and only one paragraph. Abstract must contain several things including, brief background, research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

Keywords

Keywords are written in 3-5 words that are subsets of the manuscript title, written in lowercase letters, and separated by coma. Keywords are written in Times New Roman 11pt font.

Introduction

The author should enrich the introduction with literature in the form of proceedings, theses, dissertations, books, and journals (it is highly recommended to use more citations from scientific journals). The introduction must explain several things, including: First, the background of the problem. The author must describe the background of the problem in general regarding the topic to be studied, then proceed with a description of what are the main problems in this research and why this problem is important to research; Second, previous research. The author needs to briefly describe the previous studies related to this topic, in order to provide an overview of the development of the research topic that the author wants to examine. The author must also provide a statement regarding what is the difference or uniqueness (state of the art) of the research to be carried out with previous studies. Previous research is limited to scientific articles that have been published for a minimum of the last 10 years; Third, the formulation of the problem and research objectives. In the last paragraph of the introduction, the author must describe the formulation of the problem and what the purpose of this research is. The introduction is written in TNR 11pt font and justify.

Methods

Briefly explain the methods used in the research, especially about the research procedures carried out including, the research methods and approaches used, the place and time of the research, then data collection techniques. The research method is written in TNR 11, align left and right margins.

Results and Discussion

This section contains explanations related to research findings that are presented based on data and field facts. Field data and facts must be explained in a systematic, accurate, and complete manner. The results and discussion are written in the same section (not separated by sub-headings), and both are presented in a complete and systematic way starting from the findings to supporting data, which is then completed with a discussion related to the findings. In this section, the author can use data visualization (tables, matrices, pictures, diagrams, and numbers), then the data visualization is discussed clearly and concisely. In the results and discussion section, researchers need to explain clearly and comprehensively regarding the comparison of their field findings with previous studies (state of the art) as discussed in the introduction section. Sub-headings can be included if needed to clarify the description of the field findings. Results and Discussion are written in TNR 11, align left and right margins.

Conclusion

Conclusions are suggested to be written in the form of descriptive paragraphs, not in the form of bullet-numbering. In the conclusion section, no references are allowed. The conclusion is a summary of all the new findings obtained to answer the problems and research objectives briefly (without repeating research results or copying and pasting results). At the end of the conclusion, the authors are advised to provide suggestions and/or recommendations that are considered important for further research.

If the author wishes to express his gratitude to certain parties who have assisted in funding all processes from research to the preparation of this manuscript, please state them briefly and clearly (can mention names). It is not allowed to exceed 90 words, so avoid excessive thanks. written in TNR 11 font, align left and right margins.

References

References must contain at least 15 references, with details of 85% being scientific journal articles published at least in the last 10 years.

Authors are required to use one of the following applications: Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero, or another following the American Psychological Association (APA) style 7th Edition. Here are some examples of bibliography citations:

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be numbered (Table 1, etc.). Table titles are not recommended to be bolded and are not allowed to be colored in the title or in the table itself. The table title must be positioned above the table and centered (center justified). The font size for both the title and table content is 10 pt, as well as the image title. Especially for images, it must be ensured in the form or format of JPG or PNG and high resolution.
